The Bake Shop is the best place to get sourdough pancakes in Alaska. The summer of 76, the BLT, and the cinnamon rolls are customer favorites. Bake shop's sourdough bread is another all time favorite. Worth the drive from Anchorage.

My favorite breakfast dish is a plate of fried potatoes, onions, spinach, and zucchini, which comes with a slice of havarti cheese on top of it. What magical forces have these potatoes been subjected to?! They are wonderful. They also feature delicious soups made from scratch, pizzas, homemade preserves... oh, it's all delicious. And summer or winter, you are in a gorgeous location at the base of Mt. Alyeska, how can you resist?
